Havant Ad Lib
Our local newsletter for members, activists and supporters in the Borough of Havant
Havant Ad Lib is our local newsletter for those interested in what the Liberal Democrats are doing locally in the Borough of Havant.
If you have an idea for something which you would like us to cover or, better still, wish to send in an article for consideration to be published, please do contact the editor via the email in the newsletter.
We welcome feedback, so do let us know what you think.
In this month's edition, learn about how Paul Gray helped to deliver a car to Ukraine, packed with medical supplies. Liam talks about how he first became involved with the party, fighting in the local parliamentary election. Patrick has moved to our area recently and gives us a fresh look at our wonderful area.
We also give a little summary of what has been happening with our local campaign to get some of our fantastic members elected in the local elections, along with a little about the "all up" elections in 2024 and what that could mean for us.
Late last year the Conservative Government managed to get a new Act of Parliament through to change the rules regarding elections. We discuss a few points which you need to know, such as Voter ID, postal votes and proxy votes, and how this could affect you.
There's a short piece about our new-look website, which you are visiting here, along with our regular piece on the Supporters Club Draw.
Along with some important dates for your diary, this newsletter has some great information for all our Liberal Democrat supporters, activists and volunteers in the Borough of Havant.
In our November 2022 edition, we pay a tribute to Queen Elizabeth II.
We also discuss the Tories vs Reality (not a tribute), how Solent Remade, with input from supporters across the political spectrum including many local Lib Dems, is making Havant more resilient and sustainable. We show how Ukraine is being supported locally (again with input from Lib Dems working alongside supporters of other parties and none).
Our Wilf sent a letter to Alan Mak. Meanwhile, Faith makes some confessions and we offer some useful advice for our seniors residents on the cost of living.
We also have some pieces on how you can help beat the Tories in Havant for the elections next May and have some dates for your Diary for upcoming events and a couple of national and regional things too.
There are many way in how you can help support us, and they also include the possibility of winning a prize or two. We show you how!
Welcome to August 2022 edition of the Havant Ad Lib, your newsletter for the local Havant Borough Liberal Democrats!
Recently a post was made in the Supporter’s Facebook Group to name the newsletter. “Ad Lib” won the vote! As “Ad Lib” is the main party’s official blog page, we are therefore calling it “Havant Ad Lib”. There were a few other suggestions and a big thank you to all those who voted and added other suggestions.
The plan is to make this a quarterly publication and we would welcome your input for future articles. Details for contacting our editor are on page 2.
